Merry Christmas and Shit

Hey Angela! How is Rotarua? and Gisborne? Gisborne is where I stayed and I was picking oranges just south of town.

I have worked a few times now. I think that the cooking isn't really going to be cooking. I have worked once in the Slopeside cafe. Basically the equivalent of Manning's day lodge at the ski hill. I make people their poutine, (with real cheese curds, it only cost the low price of $10). It is a good thing I get 40 percent off there. I also make deli sandwiches and keep the display stocked with all the things we sell. Then I worked on BBQ yesterday. Flipping burgers and cooking dogs on the grill in -25 degree weather. We got little toe warmer things for free so tosies were warm, but my heels froze, sounds weird I know but it really happened. My upper body was warm because of the consuming fire that cooked the burgers.

I rarely work, this morning for example: I was supposed to be in for work at 11am, so after having a very wicked sleep in, I got out of bed at 10am. I was boiling some water for tea; when Roland, my boss, called. Right away he apologized, and continued to say that he couldn't use me today.
"Don't worry about it, Roland. I'll go skiing!"

Home life is rather good. Michelle lives with Steph and I, she is acting as my sister since all of mine are overseas. This means that we have to bicker and fight often, it is all in good fun. Jamie has also come over for a visit. He is going to be here for a while checking the place out. He may end up moving in for the whole winter! Which I am pretty excited about, I have been outnumbered long enough for one lifetime. Plus I can learn lots of tele from him.
Steph is one of the most amazing people I have met. I feel fortunate to share these chapters of time with her. Some might say we are in love.

The skiing bit is very new. I have been out 3 or 4 days. I think I may have done 9 runs in total. All on my tele's, really working on skiing on hard surfaces because that is all we have right now. Though today I am going to take a break from ski's and go snowboarding. My legs can't handle another day lifting that back foot. I also want to check out some new terrain. I haven't been off the main run yet. I am preparing myself for collision with rocks!

In a nut shell my life is rather sweet. I am breathing in every moment as deep as I can, taking full advantage of all the good that seems to be snowing down on me!

I love you Angela, be well!

Wanna Race?

The game:

Hitching Race

How to play:

Pick several destinations that you have to hit along the way. See who gets the most points.

The rules:

-If you are the first to arrive at a destination you will receive 100 points. You also have to get out and hitch a ride with a different vehicle.
-If you are not first to the destination, you may remain in the same vehicle to the next destination.
-If you get a ride in a red car you receive 100 points.
-If a girl picks you up you receive 100 points, though she has to be alone.
-If you can convince the driver to stop for food you receive 100 points.
-Whoever has the most points by the final destination wins.

You may also make it so you are only allowed to start with $10 and the hitchee will have to find some way to make money to survive. (Some races may take a few weeks to complete).

Have fun!

Elanor

Whooohooo. I finally bought my van. I named her Elanor for reasons which you may guess. She is a beautiful 1988 Toyota Hiace. This afternoon I am heading north to see new sights. I am tired of the city.
Cheers.

Who is she?

There is a woman I know...who loves, laughs, cries, and lives. She is a dancer.
Her emotion shows her passion for those things that are important.

Fiji

I walk off the plane and recieve a blast of hot humidity. My face is invaded by a perma-grin. There is a band playing fijian music as I walk through the doors into the terminal. I am in Fiji! I can't believe it! After clearing customs there is a large, very feminine, man waiting there to give me any information I may need. He is hoping that I will allow him to book my entire stay. "Not bloody likely".

I make my way to the "Downtown Nadi Backpacker" hostel, when I arrive, the man behind the desk assures me that it would be a waste of time to stay in Nadi that night. So by 7:30 am I have 3 nights booked at a hostel on Mana, a small island off the west coast of Viti Levu.
I get picked up at 9am, so I have a few hours to burn before I leave Nadi. I spent the time walking downtown Nadi looking in shops.

When the van finally arrives, (we are on 'fiji time'), the driver, a man from Holland, and I go to the beach where the boat is waiting. When we get there, the boat is not. "That's OK, we on fiji time". We end up at another Hostel called 'Smugglers Cove', where I girl I met on the plane happened to be staying. I spent the morning sitting on lawn chairs in the sun, talking with my new friend, Steph. At 1pm or so, the boat arrived and we motored for 40 minutes to Mana.

Mana is a beautiful Island with 3 different accommodation options. I am staying at the cheapest which was 150 Fijian for 3 nights accommodation and all 3 meals, each day. It's a very homey place where our hosts know everyone by; Paul from Canadia, Lloyd from England, Martin from Holland, etc.
Time is spent snorkeling, (very nice reef just off the shore), beach volleyball, and lazing around.
Not so bad.

Past Present Future

I am leaving in 11 days. I was going through drawers in my room, sorting items for storage, and I found a book I had written when I was 10, as well as an autobiography. I took the time to read through them and came to the conclusion that I have the same interests now as I did in grade 5.

For example:

"Howling at the Moon" written and illustrated by Paul Rudolph Kehler, was a book about a boy, Mike, who was going on a hunting trip with his dad. Over the course of the weekend Mike and His Dad befriend wolves and put poachers behind bars. It is quite an adventure. On the back of my 3 paged book there is a write up about the author. "Hi my name is Paul Rudolph Kehler and I am 10 years old. This book is probably for experienced readers. I try to make my stories as long as possible.

Autobiography:

My name is Paul Rudolph Kehler. I'm ten years old and I'm four foot nine. I go to Yale Elementary School. I'm in grade five. My teacher's name is Ms. Fushtey. I have lots of freckles and blue eyes. I like to wear baggy clothes. I don't do anything with my hair in the morning. I love camping.
I go out in the woods and explore I like to read and go fishing. I play soccer and baseball in Hope. My hobbies are rock climbing, biking and snowboarding.
I am good at rock climbing. When I am older maybe I will work at a climbing gym. I want to be a full time firefighter. In the next couple of years I want to get a job at Fraser River Raft Expeditions.
My favourite color is red. My favourite food is Pizza. I like Red Robin's 'screaming hot buzzard wings'.

Conclusion? I am proud of my middle name, and the fact I am 10 years old. I love the outdoors and animals. (Though I was on a hunting trip). I am good at what I do. Not a lot has changed, except I am not four foot nine.

a change of pace

I am always looking forward. Can't wait until the next big thing. Summer is here. I can't wait for fall. Just wait.

The goal. To pace myself. I have a few things going this summer. I hope to take the time and enjoy them. The next big thing is going to come.

The goal. Use spare time in productivity. Not so many movies.
